Balanced Body, Balanced Mind

I'm going to be straight forward. I'm obese and have been as long as I can remember.
I've been done being obese for a long time now and I finally
found something that can help me cross over that line. I do work out,
walk, meditate, and sleep good. I'm missing out on all that nutrition.
I don't eat balanced meals often, if not at all. Our house is no way filled
with any processed foods or anything like that. I just haven't been
putting all the things together properly.
More veggies and fruits wouldn't hurt either.

A few months ago I was doing pretty well!
Then bam all of a sudden... I gained 20lbs. I've been able to maintain my
weight for a long ass time, but since I and the whole house quite smoking cigarettes.
my weight went up. Of course you would think I would keep a good daily
work out to let out the toxins. Nope, no I did not. I did in fact walk every morning
but then slowed down on other things.
Then about a month ago I was feeling really gross with myself.
Like I honestly felt like Jabba the Hutt. I wasn't happy at all with myself.
So, instead of beating myself up for it adding more stress to my body I had to do something.
I've been looking at the 30 Day-Cleanse and Fat Burning System from Isagenix for
some time now. It has everything I'm looking for.
And my body does need a good cleanse along with some shakes.
Now, I've been in a shake program before,
not that it didn't work but it started working against my body because of certain ingredients.
I wanted to try something new before but all that matters is that I got around to it now.
I am ready, I am fully committed to taking this Cleanse head on.
It's going to be hard no doubt but its going to be hella worth it.

As soon as I get my kit I'll do a little un-boxing post and from then on
I will be posting every day on my experience and journey to getting my body right for the next 90 day's.

30 Day Squat/Crunches Challenge: Day 10- Dubstep

Day 10:

Workout- 12 Min. Yoga
                105 Squats
                65 Crunches

Now, usually I do measurements on day 10 but since I missed a some day's I'm going to do my measurements on day 20. The squats have been going great, I'm starting to really feel it around 40 squats and the rest is just harder from there ha-ha. But I do them! Crunches are going great too!
I'm liking this challenge a lot. Adding only 5 more each everyday is quite powerful to me.

Just remember folks, we all start somewhere. So never be ashamed of what you look like or how you feel. If you really wanna change you'll ignore all the BS and start your journey already! It ain't gonna happen it self.
Random: I find it fun listening to dub-step particularly because it makes me feel like Im going beast mode.
Are you guys still working out? Tell me your routine if you're not doing this one.

 Much Love,
Sara Litardoa.k.a Miz. Giggles

30 Day Squat/Crunches Challenge: Day 2- Holy Crap

Day 2: August 7th, 2014

Workouts: 12 Min. Yoga
                  55 Squats
                  25 Crunches

What in the hell these squats are gonna kick my ass even more than the last ones, but I must attack those inner thighs with force lol. The Yoga felt quite nice as always, and I have a much better formation on the crunches. I guess I was trying too push myself too hard yesterday on them, silly me.
Update on my eating. I have been doing great making sure I have my breakfast and lunch after the workout. I'm feeling pretty great.

Much Love,
Sara Litardo

31 Day Squat Challenge: Day 11- Phewy

Day 11: August 16th, 2014

Workout: 15 min. Lower Back Yoga
               120 Squats

Oh boy did that lower back yoga feel good! Those 120 squats? They felt pretty damn good too. I put on some music this time and just went to town. Totally kicked my ass, I started really feeling it the last 20. Oh My Goodness I thought I was gonna give up to be honest. I was all like, " Huh, I made it too 100 squats that counts right?" No dumb ass, no it does not count you gotta do those last 20 squats then your golden.
Haha that's exactly what went down.
My legs feels beastly, my body feels amazing, and I'm still way excited for this challenge. On Monday, if it doesn't thunder and lightning, I am starting my training for the 10k. First day will be a 15 minuet jog/walk for me.
OK, well all you love's have a beautiful day and don't forget to never give up.

31 Day Squat Challenge: Day 8- Feelin' Betta

Day 8: August 13, 2014

Workout: 10 min. Lower Ab
               50 Squats

Today's workout felt so refreshing it wasn't even funny. Ha ha. My body was super happy to stretch it out after that horrendous day of cleaning and walking. I can tell it's getting a bit easier on the squats right now because, those 50 squats, I didn't really feel like much, wooo hooo! Lower ab still kicks my ass. I think I'm gonna switch up the lower ab for tomorrow and really work on my hips and lower back a bit more. My body is still a bit sore from the other day and I don't think my bed is helping either. So, do you need some help on the lower back/hips too?
As you can tell I am a big fan of Erin Motz and her yoga videos. I've done all her video's and I obviously go back. Her video's are fairly simple and she targets everything that you need to target in your body.
The 10 min. Lower Ab link goes to her Bad Yogi channel and the lower back/hips/yoga challenge is Do You Yoga.

31 Day Squat Challenge: No Day- Crazy Things

I have missed two day's! I know I didn't want to miss any day's but shit happens. I tell ya what, I did a major clean in a house and I walked in total 4.5 Miles. Now, It probably wouldn't have kicked my ass so much if I wasn't Boot-Skoot-N-Boogying (speed walking) the whole time. That definitely kicked my butt and I am sure feeling it.
I am getting back on track to the days I missed, so for tomorrow I'll be on day 8!
In the mean time think about this...

31 Day Squat Challenge: Day 7- Ohh Wee

Day 7: August 9th, 2014

Workout: 10 min. Lower Abs
                90 Squats

Holy moly cow bells! Today was fantabulous. I did skip out on the walk in the morning, oops, but it still was a very productive day. I swear the Lower Ab Workout  is kickin' my bum even more than day 1. Oh boy does the burn feel good haha. Then it twas on to the 90 squats. I really started feelin' it when I hit the 75 mark. All in all it was pretty freakin' awesome.
Food update, I have been really good on keeping everything pretty balanced. Of course my breakfast is the biggest part of the day, and it just flows on with my other meals. We always ate pretty good in the house, but everything has just gotten better. I've been doing a lot better too about midnight snacks. I use to have like a whole new meal but now it's actually snacks and between fruits or nibbling on some amazing pretzel chips. If you've never had the pretzel chips, you're missing out haha.
Much luck to everyone on their workout journey!
Oh and I found this picture quite amusing.

31 Day Squat Challenge: Day 5- Rest Day

Day 5: August 7th, 2014

I did absolutely didn't do a damn thing today, except finish up the back yard. Even though on the list day 5 is a rest day, but I was going to still d my lower abs and walk, buuutt I was like NO I shall rest a whole damn  day. LOL.
I want ya'll to know who's working out in general, its OK to have rest day's. Matter of fact it's better to have rest day's. Gives your body the time to relax and do what ever it needs to do with your muscles, and actually lower's your risk of injury allowing your body to rest. So, never kick yourself in the ass if you miss a day or two of resting. Anymore than four day's, then yeah you're probably gonna wanna get a kick in the ass. Never ever give up no matter how hard it gets.
So, today was a lovely day of nothing. Back yard looks much better than before. Thank goodness, my mom was starting to bug me about doing the yard for weeks now. Haha.
Hope you all have a fantastic day!

31 Day Squat Challenge: Day 4- Oops

Day 4: August 6th, 2014

Workouts: 20 min. walk
                 10 min. lower abs
                 60 Squats

I skipped today's morning walk, but made it up with a 20 minuet walk to the store. I did add extra outside work today. I mowed/weed whacked the back yard and I'm continue this tomorrow too.
Overall today was a pretty good day. So, I didn't talk about what goal I plan to reach at the end of this challenge. I want to at least 1 good inch from every all the places I measured. I want my weight to  possibly go down 5 lbs. So who know's it may be more it may be less but I'm excited either way!

31 Day Squat Challenge: Day 2- Too Soon?

Day 2: August 4th,2014

Workout: 10 min. walk
                10 min. lower ab
                50 Squats

Today was another refreshing day. Not to jinx but my legs surprisingly  don't hurt as bad as I thought they would. Too Soon? Probably haha. It's funny that now I have a new routine, like when to eat, I feel like I have much more time during the day. When before I wasn't keeping track of anything, and way more tired/lazy, the day's flew by.
If you're doing this challenge with me comment below, other than the squats what else are you adding on? How have you changed your daily routine?
I would love to see all your stories!

"Accepting" That Your Overweight.

I had a conversation once with someone while we were doing clothes shopping. We talked about how its nice to be able to go to a store and have the comfort of fitting in these clothes. We were in the Plus size clothing store. The woman I was talking to was telling me how she has been overweight all her life and accepted this at the age of 13, she is now almost 32 or so (still overweight). I was around 15 or 16 when I had this conversation. I thought in my head at the time, well maybe I should just accept the fact that I'm overweight and I'm never going to move from this situation. Also, at the time I didn't know "accepting" was sweet for "giving up". So, I "accepted" the fact that I was overweight.
During this acceptance I did learn something. That being big is beautiful in its own way. I actually started seeing myself a differently. Stepped up my confidence a bit too. Now I did know that being this overweight wasn't healthy, at all. I had the weight in my stomach too, which is the worst place to have it. It's like the place where all sorts of shit can go wrong. So, during this I did learn to also watch what I eat. Like had way less fast foods, more home cooked meals, less soda, more water. I even jogged around the bayou almost every night. Then we moved to a different town. I started doing yoga everyday. Now I wasn't really doing this at the time to lose all my weight but just to be more healthy within my body. That went on and off for maybe a year.

Mom and I started becoming more greenie. We joined horticulture classes at Pay It Forward Farm in Spring Hill, Florida. During the class we said eh, we want to make and edible garden business and so we started with our own yard first. We did a whole transformation of the front yard into vegetables and flowers to attract butterflies, bees, etc. Then we said AH! There is so much more life why give up on our weight and stop ourselves from doing things we really want to do in life: like surfing and free running. We took a ginormous step and said F-this lets do a 30 day raw food juice fast. HOLY MOLY! This was so hard, I never realized how much I loved cooked vegetables. We did it! For that thirty days that's all we had. I lost 23 lbs! I started at 227 and ended 204! Now this was a booster for me. I was proud of myself for accomplishing this goal and that it wasn't an easy one. We continued enjoy the raw veggies with foods we created during our fast. I was defiantly enjoying food flavors more too.
I was able to maintain a my weight at 210 -213. Now I wasn't disappointed that I gained some weight back. Of course I was going too! I wasn't going to stay raw forever haha. Then about, I don't know, some months later I was back to 220. Again I wasn't mad, I could of prevented me gaining most of the weight back by keeping up more exercise etc. I am still very proud of myself for not gaining it ALL back. No matter how close I was to the original weight I wasn't there and I was happy. Then my mom and I started taking Body by Vi: 90 Day Health Challenge. She started her challenge in November of 2011 on a Shape Kit. Which is replacing two meals a day with a ViSalus shake. Now I was taking her shakes on her 90 day challenge. I lost a total of 22lbs! I broke the 200 mark. This was easy! Our whole family actually lost weight on her 90 day challenge. My mom lost 13, my boyfriend lost 30, and my nana lost 45. A total of 110 lbs in our family on only ONE kit! Mom put her foot down and said OK ya'll need your own kit and that she wanted to see more of her results. So I am now on a Shape kit so is Nana and my boyfriend is working one his.
Now that I found out I am pregnant in January I have been having the shakes not as meal replacements but as a add on. I have been gaining weight at a proper weight which is 3-4 lbs a month. I started at 195 and I am now 212. This is great! I am getting all the nutrition I need for me and my baby. I have no signs of gestational diabetes and I get my kit for free. Now this is huge! I am saving money while getting all the nutrition I need. I have the "body" of  a healthy person. I do yoga and walk every morning. I haven't stopped. After I have my baby My weight will just fall off of me and I will be where I want to be in no time. (120lbs) Once Stella is out I will also be adding on new exercise routines like start jogging, intense crossfit, more yoga, roller skating and so much more! By this time I will upgrade to the Fit kit to gain lean muscle mass lose my weight and be the sexy fit girl I've always dreamed at the age of 20.
I am not giving up, I will not be in my thirty's and be the heaviest I've ever been. I will be the most fit person I've always saw myself as. So no matter how old you are don't give up! You know you want to be healthy! You want to live a longer life for yourself and for your loved ones. Now is the time to act. Stop holding yourself back from an amazing opportunity of a lifetime. To find out how I am changing my life and how I am helping others achieve their goals. GET IN TOUCH WITH ME! This is my story to my weight loss. By the way, this isn't all about weight loss, its only where I had to begin like many people do.
