More Tools for Transformation: Chapter Four

In this chapter we begin to build more tools on top of what we already have learned. Also, we will use the power of symbols and the elements of nature.
First, lets talks about songs. They combine the power of words with the power of breathing. This has been used for thousands of years, to promote physical and emotional well-being and to shift energy into a state of empowerment.

As children, we may have been told we couldn't sing and hence lowers the confidence and the power of singing is lost so quickly. When we stop allowing music to flow through us in song, our energy collapses. Sandra goes on and tells a personal story on how singing shifted her emotions from fear to love and calmness. She was watering her plants one morning and living in New Mexico, fire season was approaching. Once she smelled the smoke all her old fears were coming back and she didn't think she could control them. She also didn't want to be sending negative energy towards her plants, so she started singing. She continued until her body loosened up and her energy shifted.

Have you ever noticed when we get sad, angry, or even happy, we turn up the music? We find something the relates to our current moods. We also.need to be a bit careful about this. Trust me, I know its hard. But if we teach our selves to listen to a different happy soothing genre for an angry mood, we'll send out better energy for ourselves. Also, maybe create a song for yourself. It doesn't matter if it rhymes or not just do it. Write it down if you really dig it, and start singing it to yourself.
Another way to learning is simply observing. Sandra like to call this "The Obsever" she puts it as Th Observer saying something like "Oh, your feeling anxious right now. That's okay. Just experience that." When we resist in having not so good thoughts we tend to make it worst, making the problem grow even bigger than it was before. The Observer per say, is your subconscious helping you control your reactions. Observe, feel, and let go, We need to experience our emotions and then transform your emotional energy to something positive.

Another thing we need to remember, nature heals us. As indigenous people put it, the earth has a heartbeat and we are one with the heartbeat of the earth. If you are feeling not so good, your happiness is gone and maybe you are just gloomy and cant get rid of that cloud over your head. Go outside and lay on the grass for 30 minuets each day. Just do it.

Water forms us, air cleanses us, earth supports us, and fire transforms us.

If you have read this chapter tell me your thoughts? I felt it definitely made me sit back and go Ah!

Transmute the Energy: Chapter Three

I'm gonna start off right from the book! Again I couldn't of said it better. Heres a summary of what we have learned to what we are going to do next.
The real work begins once you stop reacting. The first step is honoring your thoughts snd emotions, realizing that you are entitled to your feelings. The second step is acknowledging that you want to shift your energy. The third step is learning how to actually change the energy emanating from you into a vibration of love and light.

In this chapter we learn for use our breath to transmute. Many of us taking breathing for granted. We literally can breath ourselves outta of a stressful situation, to really calm us and bring us back to center. Breathing can stop your thoughts from sending out negative energy. Once you are more in touch with your body, you can access a state of deep inner knowing and move out of a reacttionary state.

Sandra then gives you multiple ways to practice on your breathing, a calming exercise, breathing to create a state of balance, and breathing through your heart.
Then we get into the good stuff, working with the energy behind our words. Again, we can sometimes never think twice about the energy thrown out with our words. The energy in our words affect everything. Especially our relationships with others. Sandra says I see words as seeds. Every time we plant a seed word, it will grow. Are you planning to plant seeds of love. Hate, or fear? This goes as far as forever ago with all types of ancient cultures. The Navajo people have a saying: "May you walk in beauty." One lady explains on how its essentially means, don't say anything to another person unless it will create beauty in their life.

Another example is Hebrew and Sanskrit, they are what we call "vibrational languages." In Sanskrit it is believed that when you say a word, the vibration from that word goes up into the universe and comes back down as a physical manifestation. So, the words are creative, and in other words can be destructive. In ancient Egypt action and words were the same thing. Words had so much power that often a metaphor was used in the place of the word. Many stories of various cultures teach that the world was created by sound or word. You know that word Abracadabra? It's not gibberish. Its a word of power. It literally means from Aramaic " I Will Create as I Speak."

Use your words and your breath manifest good into your world and out, You want to create positive energy in your home, your surroundings, the people you are close too. etc. Place stick it notes around your home, car, or work place to keep you inspired, motivated and happy.

Hope you all enjoyed Chapter 3 of How to Heal Toxic Thoughts.

Stop the Reaction: Chapter Two

Do you have a garden of your own? Either a veggie or flower garden, you tend it with care. We are always looking for ways to feed and nutrue and find little knicks and tricks to weed out the things that don't support your gardens health and growth. Now think, you are a garden!
In this chapter we learn how to stop out reactions and transmute your energy behind your negative thoughts. The reward we find is immer peace. So to do this we must break our cycle of habits. Bevause our habits are so deeply ingrained, it may seem a bit tough. We have to remember though, we are ultimately responsible for how we act and react. So open that mind of yours!

Sandra gives out a nice little practice to connect with your inner peace and light.
When we find ourselves facing conflict-with another person, or circumstances, or within ourselves-we don't always respond to just what is happening im the moment. Consciously or unconsciously, our mind often attaches some past experience that triggers a fear or survival reaction, such as the well-known "fight or flight" not related to the situation at hand.

I had to word that from here book, I could have not said it more better. We have to learn how to rely on our innder intuition, beyond memories and past experiences. She then gives us another exercise to read out loud to ourselves, pretty much truthe and lies. Teaching us to feel the difference in they way we speak. The little feeling we get when we tell the truth and when we tell a lie, so we can differentiate the feelings. Part of our growing process we have to learn how to avoid reacting automatically. You have to have our experiences and work throught our feelings and not just start reacting to everything that may create a challenge for us.

Lets take a little challenge, look at yourself in the mirror. For some this may be a little difficult. But observe yourself. You may even start laughing, thats good! Humor is a great thung to bring into your life, then which brings joy, and then overall healing. Another thing start sending out love to yourself. Then throughout your day send love to your plants whule you go outside, start sending love to your food while you prep for a meal. Do this, and you'll really start to open up more and more each time to yourself.

This chapter really spoke to me. It is a great thing to start to believe in yourself. To learn the feelings and quirks of your intuition and really understanding yourself.

Do you have the book? If not Go here.
If so, how are you liking the read so far? I am going at a good pace making sure I read it thoroughly.

The Alchemy of the Soul: Chapter One

I've been going on an awesome reading rampage. Then I thought to self, "Self, I should write post about the book I'm reading." Here we are! I figured, I don't really read much self development books, simply because I never get the urge too. Now that I've finally got to a cute little book I found in my nana's room called How To Heal Toxic Thoughts by Sandra Ingerman. This is a book about simple tools for self transformation. This just a smidge over 100 pages fills you up with so much information.

Since this first chapter talks about the Alchemy of the Soul, lets talk about what Alchemy is. The word Alchemy from Aramaic,
Means working within and through the dense darkness inside. To transform the energy you project in the world in to love and light that can heal yourself and others. Now, do you really think about what you think? Do or have you automatically switched to a mode which sends out negative thoughts to someone or something without really taking into consideration the damage you are doing to yourself and others? I have. Our thoughts are so powerful and we must learn to transform our energy and clean up the psychic environment. As Sandra says this is what brings magik into our lives, this is what makes us beautiful.

Being a human being, we all have egos to make us feel separate from others. The experience from feeling separate creates emotions. We can be very judgmental others and ourselves and touch the deep nerves of self-worth and survival. Having emotions is good, we need to express our emotions as a way to let off steam. We need to learn new habits for how we react to those around us. Its like exercising a muscle you haven't used in a long time. As you build the movements become natural. We can feel like we have to defend ourselves at all times, and for this we pay a heavy price.
Sandra gives many beautiful practices to say to yourself and give yourself a breather.

If you would like to join me in the adventure I recommend reading this book along. This was just a brief introduction and what to expect in this book and my mini journey to learn how to focus, breath, And accept.
I will write a summary for each chapter with you guys.

If you do not have the book and seem quite interested in it Go Here.
